Biography of lecturer
Dr. Li Binbin graduated from Tsinghua University (Beijing) in 2005 and received his PhD degree in civil engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology (China). He joined Bureau Veritas in 2012 after the post-doctoral research fellowship in Nanyang Technological University. He is currently the manager of floating systems in Deepwater Technology Research Centre, BV Singapore. He is the leader of the advanced technical study in BV South Asia & Australia Zone and in charge of business development of BV offshore family software. He also promotes actively the connection and collaboration between BV and local university such as NUS & NTU in Singapore, UTM & UTP in Malaysia, ITB & ITS in Indonesia, UWA, and AMC in Australia. He is the adjunct lecturer s& field supervisor of Universiti Teknologi Petronas and Industrial co-supervisor in NUS. He serves as member of the program committee of various conferences such as OTC Asia and APOGCE. Binbin has 10 years of experience solving various hydrodynamic, sea-keeping and station-keeping problems for floating units. He led and participated in over 30 engineering projects such as FPSO, FLNG, and TLP, etc. He also participates in applied research projects sponsored by government funding such as Maritime Port Authority and Maritime Institute of Singapore. His research experience has led him to be the author of about 30 academic papers.
